Washington, DC, FEB 2 – The ZeroTruck an all electric US built medium duty truck is now available to Federal fleets on GSA schedule 95E through GSA Contract Holder – Central Truck Center of Landover, MD. Central Truck Center’s President Sam Keyton has a 5 year contract to supply ZeroTruck’s to Fed Fleets says he is, “extremely excited about having a zero emission solution that’s a real truck with applicability to every municipality in the United States.”

The City of Santa Monica has purchased the first ZeroTruck all-electric zero emission medium duty truck. The vehicle will be equipped with a Scelzi utility body for use in the City of Santa Monica. Fleet Superintendent Rick Sikes explains what this means for the City's fleet: "This truck meets the needs of our Water Division and the goals of our Sustainable City Plan to reduce emissions and reduce our use of petroleum. A zero emission medium-duty truck is something that has never been available to us until now."
The ZeroTruck is an all-electric zero emission medium duty truck based on the Isuzu N series chassis and is the only US built electric truck offered for sale in the United States in 2009. The ZeroTruck offers a low cab forward design, a fully automated transmission, up to 100-mile range with full highway capability, advanced lithium batteries, regenerative braking, and powered by a UQM PowerPhase 100 advanced electric motor. Delivery of ZeroTrucks are through select Isuzu dealerships nationwide.
ZeroTruck’s founder Tedd Abramson advised, “The vehicle is a realistic solution for fleets to go ‘zero emission’ and reducing fossil fuel. By encouraging Federal fleets to go zero-emission with their vehicle purchases, the United States can realistically achieve green job creation goals along with commercializing advanced vehicle technology. We need this for America and for our future.”
ZeroTruck based in Southern California, is a developer and producer of commercial electric trucks for public and private fleet operators. It is the only electric manufacturer that uses a US built motor and battery pack A ZeroTruck electric drive integration system (EDIS) converts class (3-5) trucks to run on electric power with a highway speed of 70 mph, and up to 100 miles per battery charge using made in the US advance lithium battery technology. This range is ideal for the medium-duty market, as most usage for this type of vehicle is less than 100 miles/day using dozens of body configurations.

Dow Kokam, ZeroTruck Sign Agreement for Zero Emission, Fully-Electric Medium-Duty Trucks
Dow Kokam announced an agreement to supply advanced lithium-ion battery systems to power zero emission, fully-electric, Class 3-6 work vehicles produced by ZeroTruck Corporation, a developer and producer of commercial electric trucks. Dow Kokam will supply ZeroTruck with advanced lithium-ion battery systems for the medium-duty, all-electric truck design based on the Isuzu N series chassis. ZeroTruck is building one truck for service on a federal campus in Washington DC, featuring an 18' dry freight body for facilities with delivery in early April 2011.
